ABOUT PFLAG
Founded in 1973 after the simple act of a mother publicly supporting her gay son, PFLAG is the nation's largest family and ally organization.
PFLAG is the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies. With over 400 chapters and 200,000 members and supporters crossing multiple generations of families in major urban centers, small cities, and rural areas across America, PFLAG is committed to creating a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed.
LOCAL PFLAG GROUPS
PFLAG - Peoria Chapter
Holds monthly informational meetings on a variety of LGBTQ+ topics for members of the community and allies. Plans and participates in events to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community
Mama and Papa Bear
Support group for parents of LGBTQ+ individuals. Meetings are held monthly at a variety of locations in the Peoria area
Q Collective
A place for fun and friendship for LGBTQ+ teens and allies. Meetings are held monthly with a suggested activity provided. A chance for teens to be themselves and meet others who are sharing a common experience
